The new Corrosion Institute website will be introduced to members of the Institute at the 2009 Annual Awards Dinner. The Council had access to the website between the AGM and the Awards Dinner. This group had the opportunity to experiment with the functionality of the site and to recommend content.
The new website has been designed to be extremely user-friendly both for the administrators of the site and for our registered users and members. Corrosion Institute members can look forward to the opportunity to display their business profiles enabling them to market their expertise, products or services not only to fellow Institute members but also to any interested party who makes use of our site. The new forums feature will create the opportunity for technical discussions throughout the community. News and Events will be posted on the front page of the website and will be updated regularly to ensure that members are kept informed of current affairs in the industry. Our online application form should speed up future applications for membership. With significant content control now vested in the hands of the Institute and in many cases even in the hands of the members, you can look forward to the site becoming considerably more dynamic - a real business and information tool through which we hope to perpetuate our goals of knowing, being known and making known. All comments and suggestions are welcome. Please bear in mind that seemingly "simple" changes and improvements may not always be as simple as they appear.
