This is a certified, examined course covering the fundamental principles of corrosion engineering.

Corrosion Environments                             Material Selection and Design

Modifying the Environment                        Organic Coatings

Metallic and Inorganic Coatings                Cathodic and Anodic Protection

 

A knowledge of chemistry and physics would be beneficial.

 

This course has recently been updated and the presentations are now all on PowerPoint.  The new edition of the textbook ‘Corrosion Control in Southern Africa’ will be used as course notes.

The Corrosion Engineering course is a good precursor to the

NACE courses which have been run by the Corrosion Institute since 2006.

 

 

All delegates who pass the Corrosion Engineering course will also qualify for one year’s free membership of the Corrosion Institute of Southern Africa.

 

This course is registered with the Engineering Council of South Africa (ECSA), and is awarded five CPD credits.

A bank transfer or a cheque made out to the Corrosion Institute or a bank transfer must be received before a candidate can be admitted to a course.

 

A withdrawal will be accepted within 2 weeks of the course starting date.  No refunds or credits will be entertained for any withdrawal at a later stage.
