The two CIP 1 classes held in March were fully subscribed with twenty two students in Cape Town and twenty six students in Johannesburg. The Lead Instructor on both the classes was Randy Glover from OTB in Phoenix, Arizona, USA. He was ably supported by Neil Webb from Isinyithi Cathodic Protection and Bruce Trembling from International Paint. Forty of the forty eight students passed the course and were awarded the covetted NACE CIP 1 Certification.
Thanks go to Southey Contracting and Blastrite for providing the facilities and the surface preparation and painting equipment for the Field days, to Bulldog Projects for providing the personal protective equipment, and to Jotun Paints and International Paint for supplying the paint.
