This six-day course provides both the technical and practical fundamentals for coatings inspection work on structural steel projects. Although specifically designed for coatings inspection trainees, this course will benefit anyone interested in gaining a better understanding of coatings application and inspection. Students are taught basic coatings technology and inspection, and are given hands on training on a wide range of surface preparation and coatings inspection instruments.

The CIP 2 Maritime is a six-day intensive course that focuses on coating inspection in the maritime shipping industry. THe course highlights the skills and knowledge needed to correctly address the inspection requirements of the International Maritime Organisation (IMO) Performance Standard for rotective Coatings (PSPC). The course provides in-depth coverage of surface preparation, coating types, inspection criteria, failure modes, and case studies from the the maritime industry.

This course is being run for lecturers and would be lecturers of courses run by the Corrosion Institute.

The NACE CIP 2 course may be taken by students who have completed CIP 1 training. The six-day course focuses on specialised methods of surface preparation and application, and coating types for both steel and non-steel substrates. Advanced inspection techniques and shop coating processes are presented. Students receive hands on training on destructive test instruments and more sophisticated non-destructive test methods. Inspection criteria, failure modes, laboratory testing and a comprehensive instrument review are also included.

Cathodic Protection 2 (CP Technician) is a six-day intensive course. Topics include intermediate level corrosion theory and CP concepts, types of CP systems, interference, CP design, and field measurements. The course provides both theoretical knowledge by lectures and presentations, and practical fundamentals by intensive hands-on training with equipment and instruments for testing and evaluating data to determine the effectiveness of both galvanic and impressed current CP systems. The student will also learn how to gather design data.
