CORROSION CONTROL
Gold Medal Award

This is the Institute's most prestigious award and is only awarded from time to time in cases of exceptional merit. Nominations are called for every year and may be submitted throughout the year. The award takes the form of a gold medal and an illuminated scroll. The merits of the nominees are considered by the entire Council of the Corrosion Institute and the gold medal is awarded by unanimous decision of the Council. Criteria on which the medal would be presented: Outstanding research of an original nature carried out in South Africa and leading to new developments in corrosion technology. Exceptional achievements in the development of corrosion science and technology. Meritorious contribution in the dissemination of knowledge about corrosion science and technology. Nominations should comprise an extensive motivation and citation.
