NACE training courses are the most widely recognised corrosion protection training in the world. These courses are held in thirty four countries, and the NACE certification is recognised in more than one hundred and four countries. These courses provide hands-on training for those who work at the sharp end of the corrosion protection industry. NACE Certificates are the ultimate proof of competence in the corrosion protection industry, and demonstrate that the holder has received the very best training in their field. Two programmes are presently offered in Southern Africa by the Corrosion Institute of Southern Africa (CorrISA). These are the Coatings Inspection Programme (CIP) and the Cathodic Protection Programme (CP). The NACE CIP Programme was introduced in Southern Africa to dovetail with the existing and popular South African Qualifications & Certification Committee (SAQCC) (Corrosion Prevention) Paint Inspector programme. CorrISA was integral in the setting up, design and implementation of the SAQCC (Corrosion Prevention) programme.
Course material is presented in the form of lectures, demonstrations and hands-on group practical sessions using inspection instruments and equipment. The courses conclude with both written and practical examinations.
NACE courses are presently held in Gauteng, but CorrISA plans to introduce courses in other regions of South Africa if there is sufficient demand.
