This is the Institute's most prestigious award and is only awarded from time to time in cases of exceptional merit. Nominations are called for every year and may be submitted throughout the year. Nominations should comprise an extensive motivation and citation.
SILVER MEDAL AWARD
The papers presented at the Technical Meetings of the Institute (from July to the end of June the following year) are assessed for their written and oral components. In order to qualify for the award, the paper must be original in the sense that it was not previously presented in the same or similar form, and a written paper must be submitted. Only papers rated at 60% or higher will be considered for the award.
